| One of Guyana’s leading Non Governmental Charity and Social Service Organizations,Mr Fujimura unveils the plaque to the building site.the St Francis Community Developers, is this year celebrating 25 years in existence and service to the nation.On the occasion the Organization has attracted two multi-million-dollar gifts from the Japanese and Australian Governments. This was revealed at a ceremony last week at the club’s headquarters, Portuguese’s Quarters Port Mourant, Corentyne,NFL Jerseys Cheap, Berbice.The Japanese Government signed a contract to construct a multimillion-dollar two-storeyed training complex on the lawns of August Body.The contract was signed by Koji Fujimura, Second Secretary in the Japanese Embassy based in Trinidad and Tobago while President,Fernando Rodney Jersey, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the St Francis Community Developers, Alex Foster signed on behalf of his organisation. The programme will be funded through the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) at a cost of US$103,http://www.airmaxfantasy.us.com/574-New-Balance/,597.Food For The Poor Guyana Inc which is a collaborating partner of the SFCD has already undertaken to furnish the building.This undertaking is part of the SFCD initiative called project ‘RESCUE’ –Reforming Education Skills and Capacity for Ultimate Empowerment.Fujimura stated that his government is pleased to be of assistance to the SFCD and the people of Guyana.He said that from what he has seen and heard, they are convinced that they have made a right move. He stated that the Japanese and Guyana Governments have a long, friendly and fruitful relationship and this project is one in a series of assistances.He also looks forward to further co-operation and continued engagements between the two countries.Fujimura expressed the hope that at the completion of the project, the Club would be in a better position to deliver on its wide array of activities.A plaque was also unveiled by Mr. Fujimura.Simultaneously, the Honorary Consul to Guyana from Australia,Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping, Mr Dominic O’Sullivan, and his wife cut the ribbon to commission a 10-acre plot of land on the SFCD complex.The land is being developed under a project funded by the Australian Government through the Sustainable Agriculture Aquaculture Model Farm. It will see the rearing and harvesting of over 4000 tilapias by February 2012.Already three ponds have been dug and a number of fingerlings are populating the ponds. The project also includes the planting of more than 400 fruit trees on the farm which will be used as a model facility.Mr. O’ Sullivan stated that the Australian Government was also very pleased to be of assistance to the people of Guyana. He noted that the Ambassador was very impressed with the work of the SFCD.He added that the funding was sourced through Australia’s Direct Aid Programme (DAP)Mr. Foster highlighted some of the achievements of the St Francis Community Developers over the past 25 years.He detailed the background to the foundation,Throwback Jerseys, the progress and some achievements of the organization.The birth of the organisation which was first called the St Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Youth Club came about after he and 11 others decided to form a youth group which was a dire need in the area.THE SFCD has rubbed shoulders with a number of distinguished organisations in the world including UNICEF,Kyle Korver Hawks Jersey, CIDA, UNDP, Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP) and PANCAB among others.Thursday’s event was spiced with music from the Tutorial Academy Secondary school steel orchestra while a number of cultural items were performed by secondary school students. |
