| A city businessman says that he is being victimised by police traffic ranks attached to the Ruimveldt Police Station.His accusation followed an accident involving a car owned by Wings Taxi Service and another vehicle which at the time was being driven by one Vashti Persaud.This newspaper was told that the accident occurred at around 1:30 hours yesterday at the corner of Mandela Avenue and Water Lily Street.According to an affidavit of agreement of settlement between the drivers of the car, Vashti Persaud took responsibility for causing the accident. They both signed it in the presence of a Justice of the Peace.“I, Vashti Persaud, was driving motor jeep PHH 8537 on the 9 day of January on Water Lily and Mandela Avenue and my jeep jammed into Roy George’s car (HB6034), “the agreement stated.The agreement further stated that the matter would be settled once the sum of $35,000 is paid to the owner of the car to cover the cost of repairs,Supply NHL Gear Store, and that there would be neither police matter nor court matter.This was also stated orally moments after the accident.However, the same Persaud who made the agreement somehow was encouraged to report the matter to the Ruimveldt Police Station.
